Japanese calligraphy has been influenced by Zen Buddhism. To create it the calligrapher must harmonise with brush, ink and paper to arrive at a result that explores the philosophical complexity of the character translated through the medium of the artist. These framed calligraphy pieces from ebisu design can inspire the viewer to appreciate the beauty and meaning of each character and to connect with the spirit of the artist. You can choose from our standard range of 12 pre-selected Kanji or have your own choice of Japanese word hand brushed and mounted in a black or natural frame.
